Join a writing team dedicated to helping software developers be more productive using rapid application development tools. Make sure our Mediawiki is working well and our Help system scripts are running perfectly. Contribute to sample code and the help system. Work in an agile, collaborative environment where there is always something new to learn and your ability to pass that learning on to others is the key to success.
Responsibilities and Activities • Monitor our Mediawiki farm performance, uptime, and scaleability • Write, update, and improve our wiki-to-help and API-to-help conversion scripts • Write accurate reference materials and sample code in PHP for the RadPHP project • Use some or all of the following tools as part of the work:
o Mediawiki (PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Python, memcache) o XML-based compiler output information from our language compilers o RAD Studio Delphi/C++Builder, RadPHP, and/or Visual Studio IDEs o Microsoft Help2 and Help3 formats o Subversion and/or Perforce source control system o Jira Defect tracker
Skills and Experience Required • Graduate degree in Computer Science or Mathematics • Some experience with Linux, Windows, Unix VMs, MySQL is a must • Good understanding of the fundamentals of Internet programming • Has a passion and availability for keeping a website up and running 24x7, website design experience is a plus • Enjoys investigating and asking questions • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Can read and understand programming languages such as Delphi, C++ or PHP • Experience with setting up Apache, Memcached, Squid, general sysadmin work is considered a plus • Application development experience in Mediawiki, Delphi, C++, PHP and/or Python, is a plus. Python experience is an advantage. • Extensions developing for some content management system (any of Joomla, Mediawiki, Drupal, Wordpress,) is a plus • Is able to write and communicate clear, concise, correct, technical English • Experience in writing technical documentation is a plus
