Job description
- Provisioning and system administration for our production, staging and development servers (running a mix of Debian, CentOS, Apache, Nginx, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Perl, PHP, Python);
- System administration and tech support for our SMS/VOIP gateways (based on Kannel, Freeswitch);
- Support for our development process: project deployment, source control, automated testing, continuous integration;
- The candidate's presence is required in our Bucharest office, full time, on site only. Availability in emergency situations may be required.
Required skills
- Solid experience with Linux system administration (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS);
- HTTP server administration (Apache, nginx, Varnish);
- Database server administration (Postgresql, MySQL);
- Shell scripting (bash, sed, awk, grep etc);
- Solid understanding of network protocols;
- Solid understanding of POSIX oriented Operating Systems;
- Independent problem-solving, self-direction;
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills;
- Experience with monitoring tools (nagios, collectd, cacti, munin etc.);
- Passionate about technology, always up to date with the latest developments;
- Ability to work on multiple projects in an organized fashion, maintain good judgment in high-stress situations;
Keywords: Linux, Debian, Apache, PostgreSQL, Xen, Perl, Nagios, SIP, SMPP, Kannel, regexp, vi.
Considered a plus
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (we use Xen);
- Experience with SMPP (Kannel), VOIP (Freeswitch, Asterisk);
- Perl programming, experience with CPAN;
- Experience with creating and maintaining Debian packages;
- Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Chef);
- Involvement in opensource projects;
- Advanced database administration skills (replication, partitioning, high availability).
