Job Description

As a SQL Server DBA at Synygy, you will report to a Database Manager and work in our Iasi office with members of the Software Development group. Responsibilities include participating in the Synygy software design process, managing the SQL Server database installation, maintenance of development and production servers. Reporting to the Database Manager, this person will work within the Software Organization.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Manage the Database design and implementation process within Software Development Lifecycle
• Establish standards for implementing and maintaining database security
• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
• Establish and review server performance optimization plans
• Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards
• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
• Benchmark Hardware requirements for Windows2000/2003 boxes
• Evaluate third-party software for Maintenance, DB diagnostics
• Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development teams and client services.

Prerequisites

* Minimum three years of professional experience in SQL Server DBA position
* Good knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems.
* Ability to perform both SQL Server and Windows performance tuning and monitoring
* Good organizational abilities, oral communications and interpersonal skills
* Ability to write and present technical materials
* Excellent problem solving abilities and detail orientation
* Provide a strategic database direction for the organization
* Informatics Degree preferred
