XL Team is looking to hire a Software Engineer:
Responsibilities:
- You will be designing and developing software in the area of (federated) identity management and information security. Our software is mostly server side and based on Java residing in an Apache/Tomcat environment.
- A Software Engineer reports to the IT Manager and will be part of a team of Software Engineers. Within the team, a Lead Software Engineer can be assigned for certain projects.
- The Software Engineer is hired by, and reports to, the Management Team.
Tasks:
1. Product development
• Development of our products
• Coming up with creative solutions to challenges we run into
• Translation of functional specifications to technical design
• Signaling problems and proposing improvements within the current software architecture
Development of knowledge
• You will maintain knowledge about at least one development platform (such as Java, ASP.NET, Ruby or Python)
• You will follow developments on (standardization of) information security
• You will follow, prepare and present monthly information exchange events with team members
Technical Consultant
Software Engineers can be requested to act as Technical Consultant for certain projects.
Also, under certain circumstances a Software Engineer can be made available to second on external (short) projects, for a maximum of 0.5 FTE.
Education
• International recognized bachelor, specialist or master degree
• Additional certifications related to software development, software management or information security is a benefit
Experience
This is how we rate your experience.
Starter:
• No professional experience required
Junior:
• At least one year full time experience as software developer
Medior/lead:
• At least five years full time experience as software developer
• Experience in being responsible for product development and maintenance
Senior/architect:
• At least ten years full time experience as software developer
Knowledge
Starter:
• Relevant higher or scientific education (bachelor, specialist or master) in informatics, mathematics, econometrics, space technology or comparable
Junior
As above, plus experience in at least one of the following languages:
• Java
• C++
• C#
• Python
• Ruby
Medior/Lead:
As above, plus
• Specialist knowledge about at least one object oriented programming language
• Experienced in at least two of the following areas
• Test driven development or Agile/scrum
• Web based applications/XML web services
• Standards in (federated) identity management, such as SAML, XACML, Kerberos, WS-Trust, Information Cards, OpenID, X509 or LDAP
• Design and management of relational databases
Senior/Architect:
As above, plus
• Expert on two or more not related domains
• Experience in development of information systems with (very) high numbers of transactions
