Duties and Responsibilities
Some of the primary duties and responsibilities of the role include:
* writing and debugging automated Mercury LoadRunner test scripts
* analying LoadRunner test runs, including using, understanding, and interpreting various performance counters
* configuring hardware and software to prepare environments for testing
* evaluate products and prototypes by benchmarking performance and scalability and working with others to improve performance where needed
* helping to research performance characteristics of existing and new software and platforms for consideration for Synygy's products
* understand performance implications of multiple tier architectures on performance and scalability
Prerequisites
The Software Automation Specialist must have:
* minimum of 2 years software quality assurance experience
* experience testing Web-based applications
* experience using and writing scripts for Mercury LoadRunner
* experience configuring, deploying, and diagnosing applications on J2EE Application servers such as Tomcat and HTTP servers such as Apache HTTP Server
* experience with various Windows operating systems
* excellent problem solving abilities, diagnostic skills, and detail orientation
* familiar with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL language
* superior oral and written communication skills
* BS in Computer Science or related discipline; Masters preferred
