Griffin Software offers consulting and development services for high-tech companies, with a focus on optimizing existing systems or implementing advanced modules such as audio/video processing, visualization, distributed computing and 3D graphics.
The job
You will work primarily on a set of applications which are part of an online media distribution system. From the recording and encoding back-end, to statistics gathering, to content fingerprinting, to implementing the front-end on mobile platforms, you will have a wide and interesting array of tasks on which to spend your programming talent.
You will need
* Solid knowledge of the fundamentals of programing: algorithms, data structures, time and space complexity.
* Fluency in C++.
* Basic Linux skills, as well as some familiarity with the C++ toolchain on this platform: gcc, make, scons, gdb, valgrind etc.
* An understanding of networking and protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP and HTTP.
* Familiarity with threading and interprocess communication.
* Working knowledge of SQL and HTML.
* Good command of spoken and written English.
You're an even better fit if you have
* Previous exposure to application development on iOS or Android.
* Python skills.
* Some knowledge of signal processing theory.
* Basic understanding of digital audio and video, as well as knowledge of the concepts behind video compression.
