Shake hands, online
While I was in vacation, in Piatra Neamt something caught my attention and made me thinking the day after. I saw some girls :), street sellers of cheap perfumes. They were selling 2 for the price of 1. That’s not something to grab attention you will say. You’re right. Let me continue the story.. When somebody was approaching they weren’t saying anything. They just stretch the arm to shake hands. Can you refuse someone that want to shake hands? NO. I guess it’s a sort of reflex.
So, I thought, how you shake hands to someone that visits your website?
How you stay and talk with every visitor? Do you do that? Talk and shake hands with your every visitor? That should be easy.
Let’s have a simple example: it’s easy to know if your visitor is there for the very first time, right? Shake hands with him, let him know is welcomed and allow him to know what the website is about. That should be a simple goal for your first time visitors. I know for sure Wordpress for example provides even plugins for this kind of behaviours.

Remember, shake hands with every visitor you have. Take a walk with him, until he leaves your website and don’t forget to manage expectations even after he left.
